SAN FERNANDO, CEBU — Another significant development was inaugurated in this town by Gov. Gwen Garcia and Mayor Mytha Canoy on Tuesday, April 15. This time, they formally opened to the public the newly completed concreting project for the Panadtaran–Tongo Road Section.
The Capitol spent P52.5 million for the project the stretches 2.574 kilometers. It follows the Capitol’s prescribed standards for Provincial Roads which have width of 6.10 meters and cement thickness of 9 inches, providing a durable and reliable link between Barangays Panadtaran and Tongo.
Barangay officials expressed their gratitude for the project that spells convenience and drastically adds value to their communities, including former mayor Neneth Reluya, who is now running unopposed as Provincial Board Member representing Cebu’s first district.
“Usa sab na nga medyo nisikat na ang among Island Tongo kay ganahan na sila moari tungod sa kanindot sa dalan,” said Tongo Barangay Captain Felix Siarot, noting that the improved road has helped draw more visitors to their area.
“Dako kaayo mig pasalamat, Gov.,” Panadtaran Barangay Captain Bobby Montria Dayaw said.
Congresswoman Rhea Gullas also joined the Governor here to show her support, alongside Vice Gubernatorial candidate and Board Member Glenn Anthony Soco, Vice Mayor Ricci Reluya, and members of the municipal council. | BJR
