“Own your story.”
This was the call of Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to all the towns that will be joining the upcoming Suroy Suroy Sugbo Explore Midwest on June 10-12.
For Gov. Gwen, this highly touted tourism event that has now been replicated in the national scene soon, should level up than past tourism caravans.
Citing as an example the municipality of Balamban, Garcia told tourism officials and local chief executives who attended Friday’s meeting at the Capitol Gallery, to “capture the essence of your municipality” such as “beyond the metals” that speaks of the town known for its shipbuilding industry.
This also goes to other participating towns like Tabuelan, Tuburan, Asturias, Pinamungajan, Aloguinsan, Balamban, and Toledo City.
The governor emphasized that with the Midwest edition, stakeholders can move beyond mere visits to municipal halls and performances and instead focus on their “own story” as a municipality or a city.
She urged organizers to capture this in order to let the guests experience and see the essence of Cebu’s charm and distinctiveness.
In response, stakeholders eagerly shared their plans and updates with the governor, ensuring that each town's offerings will be extraordinary. | URW
