First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos personally received the framed copies of Manifestos of Support for the president from all levels of governance in Cebu — from the barangays to the towns and cities, all the way to legislative districts and the Capitol.
FL Araneta-Marcos was Cebu’s guest-of-honor as the province opened its month-long 455th Founding Anniversary celebration on Monday, August 5. The ceremony at the Capitol Social Hall was also attended by regional and provincial directors of national line agencies.
Among the officials that personally handed the Manifestos were the following:
1. Cebu Provincial Board, led by Vice Gov. Hilario Davide III;
2. Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura, president of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines–Cebu Chapter;
3. Cebu City Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, president of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines president;
4. Third district Congressman Pablo John Garcia, on behalf of at least 13 lawmakers in Cebu;
5. Board Member Ricardo “Kuya Nick” Pepito, president of the Philippine Councilors League Cebu Chapter;
6. Board Member Celestino Martinez III, president of the Association of Barangay Councils Federation
7. Board Member Loren Singco, SK Provincial Federation president.
The renewed manifestation of support for the President comes as he closes in on the midway point of his term as the country’s chief executive.
It is also a concrete expression that over here in Cebu – 455 years since its Founding — its officials are one and united in working for a brighter future for Cebu and the Cebuanos.
