US CONSUL APPLAUDS GOV’S COVID POLICIES THAT HELPED AMERICANS IN CEBU

The Consul of the Embassy of the United States, Kristofor Graf, has nothing but high praise for the Covid-19 policies of Gov. Gwen Garcia.

Graf, who is also the chief of American Citizen Services at the US Embassy, said during a meeting at the Capitol on Wednesday, April 19, that the governor’s help was crucial in transporting Americans back to the USA at the height of the pandemic when sweeper flights were offered to bring back foreign nationals to their home countries.

He noted that the governor’s maverick policies benefitted not only the Cebuanos but also foreign nationals who were able to quickly depart from Cebu. For Graf, this was an essential part of the successful response to the pandemic.

Governor Garcia said she was only doing her job, putting common sense back into policies that affect the lives of everybody during a most “abnormal” time. She added that the Cebu Provincial Government is always ready to lend a hand to the United States and its citizens anytime. | Ulrika R. Wagas
