Four Cebuano police officers, who passed the recently concluded 2024 Bar Examinations, paid Gov. Gwen Garcia a courtesy visit at the Capitol on December 16.
The group included PLtCol Maila Maramag who hails from Barili; PLtCol Jomar Medil who is a resident of Alcoy; PLtCol Verniño Noserale who comes from Lapu-Lapu City; and PSMS Rex Sugarol who is a native of Carmen.
They were among the 3,962 successful passers of this year’s Bar Exams, aced by Lapu-Lapu City native Kyle Christian Tutor, a graduate of UP Diliman College of Law, who got the highest score of 85.77%.
Gov. Gwen extended her heartfelt congratulations to the officers, commending them for their dedication and perseverance in balancing their duties as public servants with their very demanding law studies.
The officers will also be recognized in a formal ceremony at the Capitol that is meant to honor 40 outstanding Cebuano graduates who topped both the Philippine Bar Examinations and the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET).
The Bar Examination is the only professional licensure examination in the Philippines that is not handled by the Professional Regulation Commission. As a mandatory requirement for the admission into the legal profession, the Bar Exam is solely administered by the Supreme Court. | BJR
