Another Cebuana centenarian, Clemencia Gonzales Bacalla received a P100,000 check from the Provincial Government during the Caravan of Services in Tabuelan on Tuesday, August 15.
Gov. Gwen Garcia personally handed over the check to the centenarian who was born in Tuburan town on Nov. 23, 1922. She is now a widow and resides in Tabuelan, blessed with nine children.
The governor was overjoyed when Lola Clemencia mightily stood up and rendered a quick song number to the amusement of the crowd.
She attributed her longevity to eating vegetables and fish.
She is one of the many centenarians awarded by the Provincial Government with the monetary grant as an appreciation for all their contributions for the past 100 years. | Carlo Lorenciana
