Occupants of Capitol-owned 93-1 lots as well the Alliance of Barangay Apas Community Associations Inc. (ABACA) were enrolled at the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund to facilitate the processing of their housing loan applications.
This was what took place during another meeting called by Gov. Gwen Garcia with the various homeowner groups on Monday, Sept. 25, at the Capitol Social Hall.
Under the more liberal paying terms of Pag-IBIG Fund, these homeowner associations will be able to fully acquire the Capitol-owned lots they are occupying as the agency will be the one that will pay the Capitol up-front for the lot’s fair market value.
The 93-1 Provincial Ordinance covers 51 hectares of province-owned lots in Cebu City that are occupied by city residents.
Under the guidelines, Cebu City residents are allowed to own the provincial lots they were occupying after paying the full amortization on the property.
These properties are located in Barangays of Busay, Luz, Lahug, Mabolo, Apas, Lorega, Kasambagan, Capitol Site, Tejero and Kalunasan.
Pag-IBIG Visayas head Paulino Talacay personally facilitated the enrollment of the homeowner groups into the agency.
Also in attendance were Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, National Housing Authority Regional Manager Rizalino Cabahug, and DWUP-Cebu City Atty. Butch Librando. | Babie Jane Revecoy
