CITY OF NAGA, CEBU – A major infrastructure project was inaugurated in the City of Naga today, April 15, as Gov. Gwen Garcia joined Mayor Valdemar Chiong in the formal opening of the newly completed concreting project covering the Langtad–Bairan Road Section.
With a total project cost of P96.5 million, the fully concreted road spans 3.714 kilometers. It follows the standards prescribed by the Capitol for Provincial roads in Cebu, which have width of 6.10 meters and a cement thickness of 9 inches.
“We have here a strong Governor. Kani si Governor, ang ato lang nga kalipay ani kay mobarog gyod ni siya para sa katawhan,” Mayor Chiong said.
Congresswoman Rhea Gullas and vice gubernatorial candidate Glenn Soco were also present during the inauguration, including Vice Mayor Virgilio Chiong, members of the city council, and Provincial Board Member candidate Neneth Reluya.
The road improvement is seen to greatly benefit residents of Barangays Langtad, Bairan, and Jaguimit as it boosts connectivity between upland and lowland communities and significantly eases travel.
“Kita maoy dako kaayo nga nakabenepisyo karon sa karsada nga nahimo na karon. Daghan kaayong salamat,” Jaguimit Barangay Captain Fermin Cañalita told Gov. Gwen during the short program.
“Pwerte nang nindota, lapad na kaayong dalan,” added Bairan Barangay Captain Reynaldo Espinosa. | BJR
