“I’d like to think that Cebu really is ideal for those that wish to mix business with pleasure.”
Gov. Gwen Garcia has put emphasis how Cebu is an ideal destination for those seeking to combine business with leisure during a meeting with Honorary Consul Jochen Bitzer of the Republic of Germany in Cebu.
The courtesy visit took place at the Capitol on Wednesday, April 2.

She stressed that such a partnership could open doors for increased economic cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, business investments, direct flights, and cultural exchanges.
“The good thing about Cebu is its accessibility,” Gov. Gwen said recognizing Cebu’s strategic location and accessibility. She also took pride in the achievements of Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), which has earned global recognition for its services and connectivity particularly the growing number of direct flights.
Consul Bitzer commended Cebu’s natural beauty and economic potential echoing the Governor’s vision. His wife, Irma Bitzer, also expressed enthusiasm about promoting Cebu in Europe.
“It’s really nice to market Cebu in Europe,” she said acknowledging the province’s appeal to international visitors and investors.
