Gov. Gwen Garcia has called for the enrollment of all employees of the Cebu Provincial Government including their qualified dependents under the PhilHealth Konsulta Package.
This was announced following a coordination meeting on Tuesday, March 26, at the Capitol, where PhilHealth Regional Vice President Marjorie Cabrieto introduced the Konsulta (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) Package to Governor Gwen.
Also present were Board Member Dr. Stanley Caminero and Integrated Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Mary Ann Josephine Arsenal.
The Konsulta Package is PhilHealth’s flagship primary care benefit program that offers members access to essential health services, as mandated by the Universal Health Care Law. It is the primary care benefit program that offers members access to essential health services, including medical consultations, health screenings, diagnostic tests, and selected maintenance medicines at no cost.
According to the Capitol’s online enhanced support system for employees, there are at least 3,399 employees at the Cebu Provincial Government, including the elected officials. This includes 758 permanent personnel, 289 casual, 205 co-terminous, 2128 job order personnel.
Under the Konsulta program, each PhilHealth-registered member who selects an accredited Konsulta provider such as a Capitol-run hospitals or Rural Health Unit (RHU) entitles that facility to receive an annual capitation rate of up to P1,700 per registered individual. These funds are used to provide consultations, laboratory services, and maintenance medication.
Aside from Capitol employees, Gov. Gwen also wants employees of government agencies operating in Capitol-owned lots to be registered in the program.
PhilHealth Vice President Cabrieto thanked Gov. Gwen for her openness to the program and assured full support from the agency in facilitating the registration and accreditation processes. | BJR
