From having been tapped as judges, 22 vloggers will now join forces with the Sangguniang Kabataan Federations of Cebu LGUs as the province-wide competition called Sugbo Vlog Challenge continues.
Gov. Gwen Garcia made this announcement during a meeting at the Capitol attended by the SK Presidents of LGUs, the 22 vloggers, Board Member Loren Sinco, president of the provincial SK Federation; and DILG Provincial Director Dr. Jesus Robel Sastrillo.
Through an electronic raffle, the vloggers were distributed to Cebu’s 44 municipalities, 6 component cities, and one highly urbanized city, with each of them assigned to lend their expertise to at least 2 or 3 LGUs.
This change followed the success of Sugbo Vlog Challenge Season 1 last year, where the Top 10 winners were awarded infrastructure projects worth P1 million each on top of cash prize worth P100,000.
The Sugbo Vlog Challenge, a brainchild of Gov. Gwen, aims to showcase youth-driven initiatives that promote not only tourism but also sustainable development in the LGUs. It encourages participants to produce creative and impactful content about their own LGUs, inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Aside from providing vloggers with relevant contents for their individual pages, the competition will also reward their efforts, with the Governor promising them a set of prizes that will truly make the contest worth their while. | BJR
