The Cebu Provincial Government has allocated P96.9 million in financial assistance for the seven local government units (LGUs) of Cebu’s third legislative district.
Gov. Gwen Garcia personally turned over the checks to the officials of this district during the Caravan of Government Services held at the Robert Alquizola Gymnasium in Barili town on March 6.
She was joined by Provincial Board Members Glenn Soco and Victoria Corominas-Toribio, as well as Ako Bisaya Partylist second nominee Carissa Garcia.
The funds are intended solely for priority infrastructure projects of the LGUs and are subject to the Commission on Audit’s stringent auditing rules to ensure transparency and accountability.
Host town of Barili received a total of P15.2 million, with P8 million allocated for the priority projects of Pablo John Garcia IV; P3 million for the programs of Vice Mayor Luisito Ponsica; and P3 million of the projects of the municipal council. Additionally, four barangays in the town were granted P300,000 each for local projects.
For Aloguinsan, the Capitol released P14.3 million in assistance, with P8 million allocated for the office of Mayor Cesare Ignatius Moreno; P3 million for the projects of Vice Mayor Raisa Moreno; and P2.4 million for the programs of the municipal council. Three barangays of the LGU also received P300,000 each for infrastructure improvements.
The town of Pinamungajan was given P13.7 million, where Mayor Jessica Baricuatro’s projects received an allocation of P8 million; Vice Mayor Glenn Baricuatro’s programs received P3 million; and the municipal council obtained P2.4 million. One barangay also secured P300,000 for its own development projects.
For Toledo City, the Capitol provided a total of P14 million, with P8 million set aside for the projects of Mayor Marjorie Perales; P3 million for the projects of Vice Mayor Jay Sigue; and P2.1 million for the programs of the municipal council. Three barangays in the city were also allocated P300,000 each.
The Municipality of Balamban received P9.6 million, with the priority programs of the offices of Mayor Ace Stefan Binghay and Vice Mayor Alfe Binghay each receiving P3 million; while the municipal council was allotted P2.7 million. Three barangays also got P300,000 each in infrastructure funding.
In Asturias, a total of P14.9 million was allocated, with P8 million set aside for the projects of Mayor Dana Andrew Dumdum; P3 million for the programs of Vice Mayor Benjo-Jarc Labuca; and P3 million for the programs of the municipal council. Three barangays were also given P300,000 each for their infrastructure needs.
The town of Tuburan was allocated P15.2 million, with P8 million going to fund the projects of Mayor Democrito Diamante; P3 million for the projects of Vice Mayor Danilo Diamante; and P3.3 million for the programs of the municipal council.
