Despite being the most isolated LGU and one of the farthest from the Provincial Capitol in terms of geographical distance, the Island-Municipality of Pilar is never forgotten and continues to benefit from the services of the Provincial Government.
During another Caravan of Government Services here, Gov. Gwen Garcia personally handed checks with total worth of P15.2 million as financial subsidy for the town’s priority infrastructure projects.
Of the amount, P8 million is allocated for the programs of Mayor Manuel “Winky” Santiago; P3 million for the office of Vice Mayor Ching Maratas; P2.7 million for the municipal council; and P300,000 each for the five barangays of Cawit, Lanao, Biasong, Moabog, and Poblacion.
The funds will be spent solely for infrastructure projects and will be subject to COA’s stringent auditing requirements. Gov. Gwen was joined here by Board Members Red Duterte, Mike Villamor, Glenn Soco, and Tudela Mayor Jojo Solante.
