A new 171.10-square-meter “Hapitanan sa Sugbo” is set to open next month in the Municipality of Santander located at the scenic “Sanayon View Deck.”
This marks the second Capitol-funded Hapitanan sa Sugbo facility to be inaugurated in the Province.
Designed to accommodate up to 40 visitors at a time, this modern traveler hub offers a wide range of services for both locals and tourists. Visitors can enjoy air-conditioned lounge areas, charging stations, a tourist information center, a mini-food court serving local dishes, coffee shops, and souvenir shops.
For just a nominal fee of 10 pesos, guests can also access state-of-the-art restroom facilities, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Bus drivers can also take advantage of a special offer. By presenting their QR-coded cards, distributed by the provincial government, they can enjoy free meals at the *Karenderia* (local eatery) located inside the facility.
The Hapitanan sa Sugbo is also a solar-powered facility.
Santander Mayor Marites Buscato expressed her excitement about the new facility, which is expected to significantly boost tourism and the local economy.
This development is part of ongoing efforts to enhance services for visitors and improve the overall travel experience in the municipality. | JMT
