During his courtesy call to Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, the newly appointed Bureau of Customs Port of Cebu District Collector, Atty. Felipe Geoffrey De Vera III, confirmed his participation in the Cebu Provincial Government’s “Caravan of Services.” The first leg of the program will take place on February 6 in the Municipality of Madridejos on Bantayan Island.
The Caravan of Provincial Government Services is held 10 times each quarter, totaling 40 caravans across the province annually. It provides a range of services, including medical, dental, optical, and laboratory assistance, as well as minor surgeries and animal vaccinations. A key focus of the program is social amelioration, benefiting persons with disabilities (PWDs), farmers, fisherfolk, and barangay volunteer workers. Over time, other government agencies have joined the initiative, including the DILG, DSWD, DA, GSIS, and the Registry of Deeds, along with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), among others.
Governor Gwen and Atty. De Vera also discussed ways to strengthen port operations in the Province of Cebu.
Atty. De Vera also assured the BOC’s support for the provincial government’s program.
“We are planning to streamline our processes so we can help reduce the cost of importation rates in Cebu. That’s our number one goal,” Atty. De Vera told 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗯𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀.
