Fresh off her three-day Suroy-Suroy Sugbo duties, Gov. Gwen Garcia made time to witness the vibrant 52nd Sinulog sa Carmen on Sunday, January 26.
Joining her at the event were Deputy Speaker Duke Frasco, Provincial Board Members Red Duterte, Mike Villamor, Glenn Soco, and Ako Bisaya Partylist second nominee Carissa Garcia.
Captivated by the performances of the contingents, Gov. Gwen announced that the Cebu Provincial Government will provide a financial subsidy of P10.6 million to support the town and its participating contingents.
Of this amount, P5 million is earmarked for the town’s socio-cultural activities, while each of the 14 contingents in the local and open categories including guest contingents will receive P400,000.
Carmen Mayor Carlo Villamor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Gov. Gwen and the Provincial Government for their unwavering support, not only for the town’s festivities but also for its overall development.
