Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia expressed her heartfelt gratitude to members of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan for their steadfast support, which has been pivotal to the successful implementation of the Province’s programs and projects.
On Friday night, December 20, Governor Garcia hosted a year-end get-together for all congressmen and provincial board members across Cebu Province, including representatives from Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu-Lapu City. The event, held under the banner of the One Cebu Party, served as a festive culmination of the year’s efforts in governance and collaboration.
“𝘒𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘨𝘣𝘰, 𝘸𝘢 𝘮𝘪 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢 𝘩𝘪𝘶𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘯, 𝘶𝘨 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘩𝘢 𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘱𝘢-𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘩𝘪 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘨𝘣𝘶𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘯. We are doing that each and every day with all of our programs that have now become hallmarks of good governance, that have now become models for other local government units to benchmark on,” the governor said.

We have a very united provincial board together with our vice governor Vice Governor Junjun Davide, you have been a crucial part of this effort to achieve a unity of direction and a standard of excellence, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘰,” she added.
Among those who came were Congresswomen Rhea Gullas (1st District), Janice Salimbangon (4th District), Daphne Lagon (6th District), Emmarie “Lolypop“ Ouano-Dizon (Lone District of Mandaue), Rachel “Cutie“ Del Mar (Cebu City North District) and Cindy Chan (Lone District of Lapulapu); Congressmen Edsel Galeos (2nd District), Peter John Calderon (7th District), Sonny Lagon (Ako Bisaya Partylist); and Lapulapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong“ Chan.
The Board Members who attended were Raul Bacaltos (1st District); Stanley Caminero and Raymond Calderon (2nd Districg); Tata Corominas-Toribio and Atty. Jiembo Borgonia (3rd District); Kerrie Keane Shimura (4th District); Red Duterte and Mike Villamor (5th District); Jonkie Ouano (6th District); Jerome Librando and Sarsi Baricuatro (7th District); Celestino Martinez III (ABC Federation President) and Loren Singco (SK Federation President).
This year’s gathering stood out as a historic milestone for several reasons. It marked the first time that officials from Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City, both independent from the political jurisdiction of Cebu Province, to participate in this annual tradition. Their inclusion showed the growing spirit of unity and cooperation among local government units in Cebu Island, transcending political boundaries.
Gov. Gwen Garcia’s family also came - her son Paulo and wife Michele, and Carissa, the second nominee of Ako Bisaya Partylist.
