The 40th and final Caravan of Government Services for this year was held in Minglanilla, where the Provincial Government announced a total of P46 million in financial assistance for various infrastructure projects of the component cities and municipalities of the first district.
The Cities of Talisay, Naga, and Carcar; as well as the Municipalities of Minglanilla and Sibonga each received checks worth P8 million each; while the Municipality of San Fernando got P6 million.
The financial assistance shall be spent solely for infrastructure development projects, and the same shall be subjected to stringent COA rules and regulations.
For Minglanilla, P5 million was allocated for the office of Mayor Rajiv Enad while P3 million went to the office of Vice Mayor Lani Peña. The office of Carcar City Mayor Patricio Barcenas received P5 million while P3 million went to the office of Vice Mayor Efren Quijano.
The office of Talisay City Mayor Samsam Gullas also got P5 million, with his Vice Mayor Richard Francis Aznar receiving P3 million. For the City of Naga, the offices of Mayor Valdemar Chiong and Vice Mayor Virgilio Chiong received P5 million and P3 million respectively.
The offices of Sibonga Mayor Mariano Laude Vice Mayor Joel Ponce also received P5 million and P3 million respectively. Lastly, San Fernando Mayor Mytha Ann Canoy got P5 million while Vice Mayor Ricci Regen Reluya had P1 million.
This was part of the Capitol’s policy of equitably distributing its resources so that no LGU in the province would be left behind in infrastructure programs and development. | MRM
