Gov. Gwen Garcia and fifth district Congressman Duke Frasco led the inauguration of the newly installed state-of-the-art 32-Slice Computed Tomography scan (CT Scan) at the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City on December 10.
Used to diagnose diseases, plan treatment, or monitor the effectiveness of treatment, a 32-Slice CT Scan provides high-quality images of the body’s internal structures for up to 32 slices or images in less time and with less radiation exposure than traditional CT scans.
The Capitol spent P27.5 million for the acquisition of this equipment that help doctors find and treat various conditions, such as bone problems, injuries, tumors, or infections, making it easier to provide fast and accurate medical care especially during emergencies
As of today, the four provincial hospitals – namely CPH Carcar, CPH Balamban, CPH Bogo, and CPH Danao – now have their own respective CT Scans, allowing patients from the province to save on much-needed resources, time, and effort in travelling to city or private hospitals to avail of this particular service.
Gov. Gwen was also joined here by Board Members Glenn Soco, Red Duterte, Mike Villamor, and Stanley Caminero; as well as Ako Bisaya Partylist second nominee Carissa Garcia, Danao City Councilor Miguel Antonio Magpale, and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center chief Dr. Gerard Aquino.
Moreover, CPH Danao also opened its newly renovated operating and delivery rooms, as well as a new complex that comprises the intensive care unit, obstetrics, and neonatal intensive care unit. | BJR
