The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Cebu Chapter held its year-end general assembly and Christmas party at Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City on December 6.
Governor Gwen Garcia graced the event and announced that each of the mayors present will receive ₱5 million worth of infrastructure projects for their respective LGUs.
According to the attendance sheet, there are 43 out of 44 municipal mayors who were present, as well as 4 out of 6 component city mayors. This means that at least P235 million will be distributed by the provincial government to the LGUs for the infrastructure development programs of the local chief executives of Cebu’s towns and cities.
LMP Cebu president and Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura expressed his gratitude, on behalf of all mayors, to the Governor for the Capitol’s constant aid and support, especially for programs that bring lasting benefit to their constituents.
Third district Congressman Pablo John "PJ" Garcia, 6th District Board Member Glenn Anthony Soco, Cebu City Mayor Raymond Garcia and Ako Bisaya Partylist second nominee Carissa Garcia, also joined LMP Cebu in the annual gathering of mayors.
Also in attendance were national officials such as Senator Bong Go, Senator Francis "Tol" Tolentino, Deputy Speaker Camille Villar, former Senator Bam Aquino and former DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr.| JFG
