Six local government units (LGUs) from Cebu’s fourth district LGUs in mainland Cebu received a total of P48.25 million in infrastructure subsidies from the Cebu Provincial Government.
Medellin, San Remigio, Daanbantayan, and Bogo City each received P8 million, while Tabuelan got P5 million.
Tabogon, on top of its P8 million aid, also received an additional P3.25 million as financial support for its Sanggi Festival.
Fourth district Congresswoman Janice Salimbangon, on behalf of Gov. Gwen Garcia, handed the checks to the mayors during another round of Caravan held at the Tabogon Sports Complex on December 5.
Medellin Mayor Joven J. Mondigo Jr., Tabuelan Mayor Raul T. Gerona, San Remigio Mayor Alfonso C. Pestolante, Daanbantayan Mayor Sun J. Shimura, and Tabogon Mayor Francis Salimbangon personally received the checks, alongside their vice mayors.
Bogo City sent its city administrator Max Suico to receive the checks on behalf of Mayor Carlo Jose A. Martinez and Vice Mayor Mayel Martinez.
The funds will be spent solely for infrastructure projects and will be subject to stringent auditing rules of COA.
