The towns of Poro, Tudela, and San Francisco in the Camotes Group of Islands received P21.7 million in infrastructure subsidies from the Cebu Provincial Government today, November 28, during another round of Caravan of Government Services.
Fifth district Board Members Red Duterte and Mike Villamor, on behalf of Gov. Gwen Garcia, handed over the checks to the mayors in a program held at the Poro Municipal Gym.
Poro Mayor Garry Rama received a subsidy of P3 million, while Vice Mayor Dina Rama was granted P2.7 million.
Tudela was granted P8 million. Of the amount, P5 million is allocated for the infrastructure projects of the office of Mayor Jojo Solante, and P3 million is for the projects of Vice Mayor Erwin Yu.
Moreover, San Francisco was also allotted P8 million, with the office of Mayor Al Arquillano receiving P5 million and the office of Vice Mayor Aly Arquillano getting P3 million.
The subsidies shall be spent solely for infrastructure projects and shall be subject to the usual auditing procedures of the government.
This is part of Gov. Gwen's policy of equitable distribution of provincial funds, with the Capitol always ready to extend help according to the need of the towns and cities of Cebu. | BJR
