The deadline for submitting entries of the first-ever “Sugbo Vlog” challenge is on December 5, at exactly 5:30 PM.
Governor Gwen Garcia made the determination during a meeting with Cebuano vloggers and officials of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federations from all the municipalities and component cities of Cebu Province on November 20.
“We would like you to be part of this endeavor. This is the first-ever of its kind in the entire country. We hope that this time, the Sugboanong Kabataan will finally feel that they are part of this total endeavor,” Governor Garcia said, emphasizing the importance of the youth’s involvement in the development of Cebu.
Entries should be uploaded to the official SK Federation pages. The number of followers, views, and reactions of the vlog post will also contribute to the final scoring.
The event, held at the Social Hall of the Cebu Provincial Capitol, was organized by the office of Board Member Loren Singco, president of the SK Provincial Federation.
Governor Garcia asked Cebuano vloggers to share their experiences and insights about vlogging, providing valuable guidance to the participating SK Federations. This was done to help them come up with creative ideas for their entries into the Sugbo Vlog challenge, which aims to encourage youth engagement and showcase the talents of the province’s young leaders.
The Cebu Provincial Government is setting aside a total of at least P12.1 million in prizes for the inaugural “Sugbo Vlog” challenge.
Governor Garcia also announced that the top 10 winning SK Federations will receive P1 million worth of infrastructure projects, with each of the top 10 also awarded P100,000 in cash.
Additionally, P1 million will be allocated for infrastructure projects of the SK Federation that shall emerge as the “People’s Choice”, with an additional P100,000 in cash.
Governor Garcia encouraged the SK federations to invite their constituents to support and participate in this exciting challenge, ensuring that the youth of Cebu have a strong presence and voice in the competition. | JMT
