Cebu Normal University (CNU) officials, led by University President Dr. Daniel P. Ariaso Sr., visited Gov. Gwen Garcia at the Capitol on November 18.
During the visit, Dr. Ariaso expressed gratitude to the governor for her unwavering support for the university, particularly for the soon-to-rise CNU extension campuses in Alegria, Argao, and Catmon. The Capitol will fund the construction of a two-storey, six-classroom building for each campus.
“We really like it, and we are very delighted to have that design,” Dr. Ariaso told Sugbo News while referring to the Capitol's proposed building plans presented during the meeting.
He also mentioned that CNU might consider adopting the design for other campuses in the future. Dr. Ariaso also thanked Governor Garcia for trying her best to help more than 1,000 students who were unable to enroll due to pending permits from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). While waiting for CHED's permit, CNU will partner with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to offer TESDA-accredited courses at its extension campuses.
“Since there are already makeshift classrooms in Argao, Alegria and Catmon we will still utilize this to equip the required compentencies of our students who deserved this services,” Dr. Ariaso added. | BJR
