In a move aimed at enhancing the professional skills of Capitol personnel, Governor Gwen Garcia has announced that she will sponsor 26 employees who are civil engineering graduates for a specialized review and refresher course for the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination.
The review course will be provided by the Gillesania Engineering Review & Training Center (GERTC), in partnership with Governor Gwen, and to be fully funded using her private funds.
Governor Gwen made the announcement during a meeting on Nv. 18 with Engr. Diego Inocencio T. Gillesania, the owner of the review center.
The two discussed the details of the partnership, focusing on the program’s objectives and structure.
The review and refresher course will offer a modified program designed to accommodate working professionals who are preparing to take the Civil Engineering Licensure Exam.
The intensive three-day class will run from Thursday to Saturday, with sessions scheduled to begin at the end of November. This schedule will give the participating employees ample time to prepare for the exam, which is set to take place in April 2025.
Governor Gwen emphasized that the sponsorship is part of her ongoing efforts to support the professional development of Capitol employees, helping them improve their qualifications and career prospects.
In addition to sponsoring Capitol employees, Governor Gwen expressed her intention to invite other local government units (LGUs) to join the program. However, she clarified that the sponsorship would be limited to Capitol employees. Engineering graduates from other LGUs are also invited to join the review and refresher course at a discounted rate.
The partnership with GERTC marks a significant step in the Governor’s commitment to fostering professional excellence among her constituents.
Engr. Gillesania expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the Governor, noting that GERTC has a proven track record of helping aspiring civil engineers pass the licensure exam. | JMT
