Cebu has once again scored big in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector as it prepares to host around 500 executives and stakeholders of the civil aviation industry from at least 47 countries of Asia and the Pacific regions.
This was revealed by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Chief of Staff Atty. Edeliza Iruguin to Gov. Gwen Garcia during a meeting at the Capitol on September 23.
The 59th Conference of the Directors General of Civil Aviation – Asia and the Pacific regions will be held here from October 14 to 18 with the theme, “Shaping the Future of Air Transport: Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive.”
In support for the important gathering, Gov. Gwen said the Capitol shall host a welcome dinner for the delegates on the night of October 14. Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista and CAAP Director General Manuel Antonio Tamayo are expected to attend the welcome dinner.
The five-day conference serves as a platform for directors general and other stakeholders of the civil aviation industry from 47 member states and representatives from 15 international organizations to discuss critical issues that concern the industry. Key topics include aviation safety, security, air navigation, environmental impacts, and the economic development of air transport.
