𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐉𝐀𝐍, 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 – As the new school year begins, the Cebu Provincial Government also launches the “Balik Eskwela” program aimed at assisting students all over the province to prepare for the academic year ahead.
During the inaugural Caravan of Government Services for the third quarter this year, Gov. Gwen Garcia, joined by third district Congressman Pablo John Garcia, led the ceremonial distribution of school supplies and hygiene kits to students of Toledo City and adjacent Municipalities of Aloguinsan, Asturias, Balamban, Barili, Pinamungajan and Tuburan.
The school supplies include bags, folders, notebooks, pencils, ball pens, rulers, crayons, paper, erasers, and school uniforms. Additionally, hygiene kits or “Health Eskwela Bags” contain toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and alcohol.
The Capitol has allocated an impressive budget of ₱389,999,050 for this year’s “Balik Eskwela” program. This substantial investment will benefit all public school students in Cebu Province, from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
“Magpadayon ang akong paningkamot alang kaninyo. Kay kon gibalik man ko sa Ginoo niining yugto sa atong sugilanon, kana tungod kay duna pakoy misyon alang kaninyo, duna pakoy daghan nga wala pa matabangi,” Gov. Gwen said in her speech at the municipal gym here on August 10.
The school supplies and hygiene kits ensure that students are well-prepared not only academically but also in terms of personal well-being and health.
District Board Members Atty. Jiembo Borgonia and Tata Corominas-Toribio also attend the Caravan of Services, alongside host Mayor Ana Jessica Baricuatro, Toledo City Mayor Marjorie Perales, Barili Mayor John-John Garcia, Asturias Mayor Dana Andrew Dumdum, Tuburan Vice Mayor Danny Diamante, and Balamban Vice Mayor Alfie Binghay.
The Capitol’s initiative sends a message of hope to Cebuano students and their families that the provincial government is doing all it can to help them finish their much-needed education and give them a chance to succeed in life. I Jude Torres
