Gov. Gwen Garcia proudly highlighted the significant evolution of R’Cebu during her speech at the opening of the R’Cebu Trade Fair on July 19.
“I believe that R’Cebu has since evolved,” Gov. Gwen Garcia said.
“I do know having seen these, the transformation of Cebu and the Cebuanos. We have come to own this annual regular exhibit presentation of the best that each and every town has to offer, of each and every district of atong Sugbo, our Cebu,” she added.
The R’Cebu Trade Fair was initiated in 2021 during the pandemic period as a way to support local businesses who were significantly affected by the economic downturn. The fair started as a modest effort to provide a platform for small enterprises to showcase their products and gradually gained momentum. Over the years, it has evolved into a major annual event that not only boosts the local economy but also highlights the cultural richness of Cebu. The continued success and growth of R’Cebu stand as a testament to the resilience and creativity of the Cebuanos.
The event, held at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu Level I Atrium, transforms the venue into a vibrant marketplace reminiscent of a traditional barrio fiesta.
The products of Cebu's First District are showcased as well as the rich flavors and lively traditions of Talisay City, Naga City, Carcar City, Minglanilla, San Fernando, and Sibonga. These products include the famous lechon, chicharon, handicrafts, homemade products, among others.
The R’Cebu Trade Fair runs from July 19 to Sunday, July 21, offering visitors a three-day celebration of Cebu’s finest.
Now in its fourth year, the R’Cebu Trade Fair continues to celebrate and promote the unique offerings of the province. Customers can immerse themselves in a variety of local delicacies, handcrafted goods, and cultural displays that represent the diverse heritage of Cebu. | Babie Jane Revecoy
