The closing ceremony of Palarong Pambansa 2024 will be a grand tribute to Cebuano sports heroes who have brought pride to Cebu in past events.
Set for July 16 at the Cebu City Sports Center, the event promises to be a spectacular celebration of athletic achievements and Cebu's rich culture.
Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia is thrilled to host this significant occasion.
"Mao na ang mapuno sa atong pride of place," she said, emphasizing the importance of honoring these athletes.
The ceremony will also feature a special recognition of the participating athletes, highlighted by an original song composed just for them.
ABS-CBN’s former creative director, Awhel Paz, has unveiled his visionary plans for the ceremony.
"I want Cebu to be known worldwide," Paz declared, presenting his elaborate production plans to Governor Gwen and Cebu City Acting Mayor Raymond Garcia.
A key feature will be an outdoor video mapping display, transforming surfaces into dynamic 3D visuals and promising a spectacular visual feast for attendees.
In addition to its technical marvels, the ceremony will celebrate Cebu’s vibrant art and culture.
Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto is also set to perform, adding star power to the event.
The Cebu Provincial Government has pledged P8 million for the closing ceremony, which will not only celebrate athletic prowess and camaraderie but also highlight Cebu as a beacon of light, hope, peace, and friendship. | JT
