Good news for local and foreign tourists travelling to Bantayan Island, as King Aces Travel and Tours Service Inc. (KATTSI) will be offering regular flights from the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) to Bantayan Island Airport beginning August this year.
Retired army general Gilbert Llanto invited Gov. Gwen Garcia to grace their inaugural flight on August 28 this year which will mark the start of their regular flights.
Llanto is the chair of Prime Aces Holdings Corporation (PAHC), which with KATTSI, is a subsidiary of ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative. He was joined in his meeting with the governor on July 3 by PAHC director, retired BGen Augusto Gaite; KATTSI director, retired Col. Germiniano Yuson Jr.; and officials from MCIA.
The inaugural flight shall be open to the public and will be on sale for as low as P888.
The flights will use ATR planes with a 72-seat capacity. It will fly from MCIA to Bantayan and vice versa twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays, in time for the influx of tourists for the weekend.
With the introduction of regular flights from MCIA to Bantayan, tourists can significantly cut on their travel time to the island, from 4 hours by bus and ferry, to as fast as a 25-minute ride.
