𝗗𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗘𝗧𝗘, 𝗖𝗘𝗕𝗨 — Governor Gwen Garcia and Mayor Ronald Allan Cesante led the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Dalaguete Wastewater Treatment Facility on Saturday, June 15.
This pioneering project, the first of its kind in the south, is operated by the local government in partnership with Cebu Reliance, a private company.
The facility, funded with a total of P11 million, received contributions of P7.8 million from the municipality and P3 million from the Cebu Provincial Government.
Occupying an area of 100 square meters, the facility processes approximately 6 cubic meters of wastewater per hour.
It effectively purifies wastewater from drainage and rain runoff in the Poblacion area, ensuring contaminants are removed before the water is discharged back into the ocean.
The treated water produced by the facility can also be used for agricultural, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Also in attendance were Second District Congressman Edsel Galeos, Board Members Raymond Calderon and Dr. Stanley Caminero, Samboan Mayor Emerito Calderon, Dalaguete Vice Mayor William Lagahid, and other municipal officials. | BJR
