The governor inspected the newly installed generator sets in Malapascua Island on Sunday, May 26. The gensets are expected to give much-needed relief for residents and resort owners in the area.
The 4 sets of 500 KVA generators are capable of supplying 2 megawatts of power for Malapascua that has been reeling from the effects of rotational brown out after its power provider encountered problems since the Holy Week.
The Capitol came in and is renting the generator sets from a private supplier.
This development is expected to give much needed relief for the residents and visitors of Malapascua, famous for its white sand beaches and unique dive experience with friendly thresher sharks.
The governor also inspected the ongoing concreting works of the 3-kilometer stretch of the circumferential road in the island covering the eight sitios in Barangay Logon.
Joining the governor are Madridejos Mayor Romeo Villaceran, Barangay Logon Captain Lemuel Daño, Malapascua Business Association President Anna Reed, Lester John Jardinero from Power Source Philippines Inc., CEBECO II general manager Lowell Belciña, and Benedict Mariscal representing Dynamic Power. | MARM
