Gov. Gwen Garcia met with Dalaguete Mayor Ronald Allan Cesante and Cebu Normal University (CNU) VP for Administration Dr. Joseph Elvir Tubilan on Thursday, April 18, to initially discuss about the plan to establish a new CNU external campus in the southern municipality.
𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐨 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 learned that the planned extension campus will be built on a 1.2-hectare property owned by the LGU.
If the Dalaguete campus pushes through, it will mean that students from the Dalaguete and neighboring towns will no longer have to travel to Cebu City to pursue their tertiary education.
Aside from Dalaguete, there have plans too of expanding CNU’s presence in other Cebu towns such as Alegria, Argao, and Catmon.
First established in 1902, CNU, formerly Cebu State College, is a state-funded university that has three campuses in Cebu: the main campus in Cebu City and campuses in Medellin and Balamban towns in northern and midwestern Cebu, respectively. | CL
