A total of P28.7 million has been given as assistance by the Provincial Government to three LGUs at the heart of Metro Cebu.
Gov. Gwen Garcia personally handed the checks to the mayors, vice mayors, councilors, and barangay captains during the Caravan of Government Services today, March 21, at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Of the three, Cordova secured the highest financial assistance at P12.8 million. It was followed by the Municipality of Consolacion which received P9.8 million, and host Mandaue City got P6.1 million.
Cordova Mayor Cesar Suan, Consolacion Mayor Nene Alegado, and Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes receivedthe checks from the governor.
The assistance shall be intended to fund solely infrastructure projects of the baranagys, council members, the vice mayors, and the mayors. It was based on the LGU representation in important meetings at the Capitol that necessitated the presence of their officials for deliberations.
Congresswoman Lolypop Ouano-Dizon from the lone district of Mandaue, sixth district Congresswoman Daphne Lagon, and district Board Members Glenn Soco and Jonkie Ouano joined the governor in the distribution of aids and services at the Caravan. | Mary Ann Malaya
