A move seen to bolster Cebu’s fashion and creative industry, the Provincial Government has approved the leasing of a 700-square-meter prime property at the entrance of Cebu IT Park to renowned fashion designer Furne One Amato.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Capitol’s Economic Enterprise Council (EEC), chaired by Governor Gwen Garcia, on Tuesday, March 19.
Furne Amato, known for his exquisite designs and high-profile clientele, intends to establish his Amato Atelier at the prime location.
The atelier will feature a neutral-eclectic showroom showcasing his latest creations, alongside a trendy cafe, adding a unique touch to the bustling Cebu IT Park landscape.
The showroom, expected to open later this year, is expected to become a destination for fashion enthusiasts, showcasing Amato’s globally recognized designs and serving as a hub for creativity and innovation in the region. With his reputation for luxurious and avant-garde fashion, Amato’s presence in Cebu IT Park is poised to elevate the area’s status as a fashion destination.
The facility will also showcase Cebuano products. Capitol and Amato are set to sign a formal lease deal.
Amato's decision to establish his atelier in Cebu highlights Cebu’s potential as a hub for creative industries.
The plan of Amato, who traces his roots from Barili, Cebu, to lease the prime property reflects his confidence in Cebu’s growing prominence in the fashion world and underscores his commitment to expanding his brand’s presence in the Philippines. | Carlo Lorenciana
