The Museo de Samboan, which houses Samboan’s cultural treasures and heritage memorabilia, reopened its doors to the public on Tuesday, March 12.
Gov. Gwen Garcia and Vice Gov. Hilario Davide III graced the ribbon-cutting, unveiling, and blessing of the two-storey museum.
Mayor Emerito “Tito” Calderon Jr. was also joined by second district Board Members Dr. Stanley Caminero and Raymond Calderon.
The Capitol funded the museum’s rehabilitation amounting P4 million, on top of the P2 million donation made by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Located in Brgy. Poblacion, the museum previously served as the town’s old municipal hall.
When the new municipal hall was built, the town converted the edifice into a museum, displaying stoneware and pottery, wooden implements and tools, celadons, religious artifacts, and paintings by local artists. | Babie Jane Revecoy
