Members of at least 44 homeowner groups currently occupying lots owned by Cebu Province have been given 90 days, or until May 2, to process their housing loan applications with the Pag-ibig Home Mutual Fund .
When the deadline shall have passed and they remain non-compliant, the Capitol will be forced to send them demand letters.
Gov. Gwen Garcia made this announcement during a meeting with Cebu City Vice Mayor Raymond Garcia, Pag-IBIG Fund Visayas head Paulino Talacay, and officers and members of these homeowners at the Capitol Social Hall on Friday, February 2.
“Palihug lang pagka-May 2, meeting ta diri balik. Tagsa-tagsaon nako kada asosasyon kon kinsay nakumpleto. Hopefully, walay uban nga dili kumpleto, apan katong dili kumpleto, kuyogan lang ta mo sa CPDRC,” Gov. Garcia said in jest, referring to the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
These properties are located in the barangays of Busay, Luz, Lahug, Mabolo, Apas, Lorega, Kasambagan, Capitol Site, Tejero, Kamputhaw, and Kalunasan.
While occupants will be enjoying more liberal paying terms of their housing loan with Pag-IBIG, the agency will be the one that will pay the Capitol for the lots they occupied at fair market value.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development 7 Assistant Director Christopher Lucero, National Housing Authority Regional Manager Engr. Rizalino Cabahug, Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) chief Atty. Ronald Anthony Librando, and Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Donato Villa were also present during the meeting. | Babie Jane Revecoy
