The come-backing Provincial Sports Meet will be held in the City of Naga on March 3 to 8.
This was agreed during the Provincial School Board Meeting held at the Capitol on Thursday, January 18.
“The City of Naga offered that the provincial meet be held in Naga. I believe that if there are no objections, then it’s Naga,” said Governor Gwen Garcia during the meeting.
The City of Naga has state-of-the-art facilities that can cater to sporting events such as the upcoming provincial sports meet.
Provincial DepEd Superintendent Dr. Senen Priscillo Paulin said there are 24 sports categories and cultural activities that shall be competed upon by elementary and high school student-athletes of Cebu’s 44 municipalities.
The Provincial School Board has also allocated P3 Million as subsidy for the sports event.
The winning athletes shall represent the Province of Cebu in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA). | Jude Torres
