Project implementors of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) along Osmeña Boulevard have agreed to temporarily suspend construction operations days before the Sinulog sa Lalawigan this Sunday, January 14.
This is to give way to the 18 LGUs from Cebu joining the Sinulog sa Lalawigan’s street dancing competition, which shall begin in front of the Capitol Building on Osmeña Blvd all the way down to the Cebu City Sports Center.
CBRT project manager Engr. Norvin Imbong, in a meeting with Gov. Gwen Garcia and Cebu City Vice Mayor Raymond Garcia at the Capitol on Monday, January 8, said they are committed to cooperating with the Province in ensuring that the street dancing competition shall be safe and secure for both dancers and the general public.
He said they would have to clear the road of metallic debris, construction materials, and other obstacles, ensuring that the road will be free of obstruction and safe even for student dancers who would be the most vulnerable. | Mary Ann Malaya
