The Cebu Provincial Government and Mister Loo Philippines signed a lease agreement today, December 21, to formalize the public-private partnership of both parties for the development, maintenance, and operation of tech-enabled toilets in Capitol-run bus terminals, namely the Cebu South Bus Terminal and the Cebu North Bus Terminal.
Gov. Gwen Garcia and Mister Loo Phil. Country manager Sarah Pante represented both parties during the signing.
Under the agreement, Mister Loo will shoulder all expenses, including the building, installation, and operation of the toilet facility with its own staff, and ensure the highest client satisfaction through state-of-the-art infrastructure and the highest international hygiene standards.
MLP will also deal with public concerns, and with the tech-enabled toilets, a service fee ranging from P10 to P20 will be charged to each visitor and client.
While the P10 service fee covers the tech-enabled toilet, the P20 premium fee offers users comfort through an air-conditioned lounge area, a make-up and breastfeeding area, a charging station, and free water.
"What we wanted to do is give people options. Bakit may 10, bakit may 20? We're giving them options, choices, a better toilet facility," Pante told SugboNews.
Moreover, while MLP is generating revenues from its services, they also agreed to pay the Capitol a monthly rental of 5% of the gross proceeds generated through the services.
