Gov. Gwen Garcia is asking the Registry of Deeds on how Capitol can expedite the transfer of certificate of titles of lots that were recovered by the Province or those that were legally sold to private individuals.
This in a nutshell was the discussion during a meeting with regional director of the Registry of Deeds lawyer Marlo Cugtas on Thursday, December 7.
Among the lots discussed were those recovered by the Province from the Visayas Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. As of this year, 35 out of 47 parcels of lots, with a total area of 80 hectares, have been turned over by VisCom to the Capitol.
Also raised was the transfer of certificate of titles of the OPRRA lots in Brgy. Kalunasan. Portions of these lots have been validly sold by the Capitol to homeowners in the area.
“The governor is serious in giving the lots to people who really deserve it,” Atty. Flornelio Ediza of the Provincial Legal Office (PLO) told Sugbo News.
“This also shows a strong message of follow-through and accountability kay mao may gi-promise ni Governor nga ma-transfer gyud nato ang tanang mga yuta sa mga kwalipikadong tawo,” he added, referring to the OPRRA homeowners who were able to pay the Capitol in full for the lots they occupy.
Atty. Ediza said around 209 lot titles have been transferred to qualified lot owners who were able to fully pay the Capitol for the lots they occupy in OPRRA; while 21 applications are undergoing review by the PLO.
Also present during the meeting were Cebu City Registry of Deeds Atty. Hazel Espina and provincial attorney Donato Villa. | Sugbo News
