The Cebu Provincial Government is looking to make operational the dialysis centers to be established in Capitol-run hospitals in the islands of Bantayan and Camotes by February next year.
This was the date agreed upon during Gov. Gwen Garcia’s meeting with Medtronix Medical Supplies and Equipment proprietor Jona Brigida Navarro at the Governor’s Office on Wednesday, December 6.
Medtronix is the Capitol’s partner in establishing 15-unit dialysis centers in both Danao and Carcar Provincial Hospitals.
For the islands, the Capitol will be putting up 10 dialysis units each at the Bantayan District Hospital and Ricardo Maningo Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, Camotes.
The Capitol will also be adding 15 dialysis units at the Balamban Provincial Hospital which already has 10 dialysis machines, bringing the total number to 25. The additional units will be operational by April next year.
The governor reiterated that indigent patients duly accredited by social workers will be given dialysis treatment for free; while non-indigents are to pay the standard fee of P2,500 per session. | Ioannes P. Arong
