Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shambhu Kumaran paid Governor Gwen Garcia a courtesy visit at the Capitol today, November 14.
Kumaran was accompanied by 15 businessmen who pledged to donate P2 million worth of medical supplies to Capitol-run hospitals.
While medical matters and Indian investments dominated the discussion, Kumaran also told Governor Gwen that they have been pushing for an easier visa processing for Filipinos visiting India.
He also raised his concerns to the governor about the potential threat by work-from-home setup, particularly in the BPO industry based in Cebu.
The ambassador highlighted the need for a comprehensive strategy to address the challenges and ensure the sustainability of the sector.
Governor Gwen Garcia expressed her full support for the interests and proposals put forward by Kumaran and the visiting businessmen.
She reassured them of the province's commitment to facilitating a conducive business environment and pledged to work closely with Indian partners to realize the discussed initiatives. | Mary Ann Rose Malaya
