The Provincial Economic Enterprise Council (EEC), chaired by Gov. Gwen Garcia, has given Mister Loo Philippines the Original Proponent Status to develop tech-enabled toilet in Capitol-owned-and-operated bus terminals.
Sarah Pante, country manager of MLP, presented their unsolicited proposal during the EEC meeting at the Capitol on Wednesday, November 8.
MLP proposed to develop, maintain and operate the toilets of the Cebu South Bus Terminal and Cebu North Bus Terminal.
Under the proposal, MLP will shoulder the expenses in the development and operation of toilets, as well as deal with public concerns regarding the matter.
The firm’s proposal also includes the installation of air conditioning units, breastfeeding area, and a lounge area to provide more comfort and convenience for north- and south-bound travellers.
Other firms will be able to present better terms to the Capitol under the requisite Swiss Challenge for government contracts.
According to its website, MLP is an innovative public toilet concept from Switzerland that aims to digitalize the public toilet sector and become the leading service provider in Asia by contributing state-of-the-art toilet facilities and integrated e-health centers to better public health. | Babie Jane Revecoy
