Gov. Gwen Garcia has tasked the Cebu Electric Cooperative II (CEBECO II) to coordinate with the Municipality of Tabogong in northern Cebu to expedite the solving of power outages in the area.
During another meeting at the Capitol today, the governor learned from Mayor Francis Salimbangon that power outages in the LGU persist and these can last from five to twelve hours a day to the inconvenience of the residents.
The mayor added that the problem heavily affects the water distribution in the LGU, especially in water pumping stations heavily reliant on electricity located in the three barangays of Lipjo, San Isidro, and Taba-ao.
“Kung tubig ang ma-interrupt, pwerting paita,” Gov. Gwen told CEBECO II general manager Engr. Lowell Belciña.
Engr. Belciña submitted a detailed report to the governor about the situation and promised to prioritize the restoration of reliable power in the mentioned barangays.
CEBECO II is slated to meet the governor again on November 15 to update her of the situation. | Babie Jane Revecoy
