The seven LGUs of Cebu’s third district received an accumulated P42 million in financial assistance from the Capitol.

The check turn over was led by Gov. Gwen Garcia during the Caravan of Provincial Government Services held at the Toledo City Sports Center yesterday, November 7.

Pinamungajan Mayor Ana Jessica Baricuatro, Balamban Mayor Ace Stefan Binghay, and Barili Vice Mayor Loy Ponsica received checks worth P8 million each.

Toledo City Mayor Joie Perales, Aloguinsan Mayor Cesare Ignatius Moreno, and Asturias SP Member Reine Yaras each had P5 million; while Tuburan Mayor Democrito Diamante got P3 million.

The assistance, earmarked as LGU infrastructure projects, is an incentive given to the LGUs for their respective mayor’s attendance in important deliberations at the Capitol, such as the Provincial Development Council Meeting.
