Occupants of Capitol-owned 93-1 lots as well as the Alliance of Barangay Apas Community Associations Inc. (ABACA) have until next week to submit the processing of their housing loan applications with Pag-IBIG Fund.
This was the agreement reached by the homeowners' associations during a meeting with Gov. Gwen Garcia and Pag-IBIG Fund Visayas head Paulino Talacay on Monday, Nov. 6.
Members of over 40 homeowners associations present during the meeting at the Capitol Social Hall agreed on the deadline.
Under the more liberal paying terms of Pag-IBIG Fund, these homeowner associations will be able to fully acquire the Capitol-owned lots they are occupying as the agency will be the one that will pay the Capitol up-front for the lot’s fair market value.
Then, the homeowners would be paying their loans on a staggered basis over a long payment period to Pag-IBIG.
The Provincial Government have allowed Cebu City residents to own the provincial lots they are currently occupying after paying the full amortization on the property.
These properties are located in Barangays of Busay, Luz, Lahug, Mabolo, Apas, Lorega, Kasambagan, Capitol Site, Tejero and Kalunasan. | Carlo Lorenciana
