“Kining R’Cebu will always serve as a testament to the Cebuano’s strong will, determination, and resilience.”
Governor Gwen Garcia made this statement during the final installment of R’Cebu Experience 2023 today, October 27, at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu Atrium.
This year’s final leg features the best of the first district LGUs, which includes the lechon and processed foods of Talisay City, special hopia of Minglanilla, dragon fruit wine of the City of Naga, paintings and handicrafts from San Fernando, chicharon and ampao of Carcar City, and clay pots of Sibonga, among many others.
Mayor Samsam Gullas of Talisay City; Mayor Rajiv Enad of Minglanilla; Mayor Val Chiong of City of Naga; Mayor Mytha Ann Canoy of San Fernando; Mayor Patrick Barcenas of Carcar City; and Mayor Lionel Bacaltos of Sibonga all showed out in support for the program that allows micro-entrepreneurs from their respective LGUs to display their products at the mall, free of charge.
The R’Cebu Pista sa Primero Distrito will last from October 27 to 29.
For three years now, R’Cebu Experience has proven effective in restoring the vibrancy of the business sector in Cebu.
Governor Garcia recalled how the R’Cebu Experience was born to help small business owners recover from their losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
“Ipadayon ta gayud kini,” Gov. Garcia said. “We have been continuously showing the rest of the country and the rest of the world just what Cebuanos are made of,” she added.
The first five installments of R’Cebu this year has accumulated an initial sale of P2.26 million, much bigger compared to the previous year’s installment.
Joining the governor were first district Congresswoman Rhea Gullas, Board Members Yolanda Daan and Red Duterte.
DOT 7 Accreditation Chief Judie Gabato, DTI 7 Assistant Director Esperanza Melgar, DTI-Cebu Director Rose Mae Quinañola, and Richard Sarmiento, mall operations manager of Robinsons Galleria Cebu were also present. | Babie Jane Revecoy
