DUMANJUG, CEBU — “Nahibalik ug atung nabalik and garbo sa Pasigarbo tungod kay garbo nga Sugboanun ta.”
This was what Governor Gwen Garcia told members of media after the successful repeat performances of the winning contingents of the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2023 Sunday night, October 21, at the open grounds of Cebu Technological University (CTU) - Dumanjug Campus in the town of Dumanjug.
Despite the short notice, the production and technical aspects of the PSS 2023 Awarding Ceremony and Repeat Performances have stepped up to avoid technical glitches, the governor said.
The performances of the winners in street dancing and ritual showdown, as well as among the festival queens and mayors’ introduction videos were greeted with excited cheers by the audience.
The crowd, all donning DOT-inspired “I love the Philippines” campaign shirts, gave the performers a standing ovation, especially Toledo City’s Hinulawan Festival and Minglanilla’s Sugat-Kabanhawan Festival.
A total of P28.825 million cash prizes were given to all the winners.
