Over 500 judges of the Municipal Trial Courts and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts in the Philippines converge Wednesday night in a reception dinner hosted by the Provincial Government.
Members of the Philippine Trial Judges League Inc. are in Cebu for their 30th National Convention and Seminar.
The Governor’s Night is especially significant as it is held on the eve of Gov. Gwen’s birthday.
In her speech, Gov. Gwen expressed her gratitude to all the judges for their pivotal role in society, especially in upholding justice for the people in trial.
Gov. Gwen has a soft spot in her heart towards judges, especially because her late mom, Esperanza Fiel Garcia, was a former judge in Cebu.
Joining the governor during tonight’s event were PTJLI president Judge Ireneo Lustre, executive vice president Judge Ana Lesa Sarsoza-Radaza, Board Members Glenn Soco and Cesar Baricuatro, Tourism Undersecretary Atty. Elaine Bathan, and the rest of PTJLI’s officers.
Trial court judges are exemplars of effective and efficient administration of justice, especially since they are the front-liners of the Judiciary. The are even called by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo as the “base of the pyramid” and the foundation of the judiciary’s structure.
PTJLI is an association of judges of the Municipal Trial Courts and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts. Former
judges of the MTC and MCTC can become associate members of the association.
The PTJLI aims to defend and uphold the Constitution of the Philippines at all times, all laws and statutes promulgated by duly constituted authorities. | 𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑜 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑎
